Fleming agreed and stated how essential it’s that we all regularly study our own biases; we should be open with students and allow them to know we are making an effort to speak without bias. Reese talked about the Harvard implicit bias check which is a tool that can assist all of us uncover our personal hidden biases. Reese described how he administers a brief mid-semester survey that is nameless. He tells college students ahead of time that he may not have the flexibility to tackle every concern, but will do his greatest to assist them. Once submitted, he summarizes the results for students and descriptions any adjustments he plans to make.
